As someone who both lives and works in Oakland, I wish to express my OPPOSITION to the application of Golden Road Brewing >> "Anheuser-Busch" >> "AB InBev" to develop a brewery, tap room and retail outlet. There are many similar LOCALLY owned and operated businesses in this City, which would be disadvantaged by this project.
In addition and subjectively, I find the project's design to be unsightly and garish. In short, no thank you.

I am opposed to this business because it is not making a meaningful infrastructure investment and there are already several high quality and roughly similar businesses in the area that take an active role in improving neighborhood life, including Clove and Hoof, Hog's Apothecary, etc.

Meg Gill and Golden Road are coming to Oakland to cannibalize and capitalize, plain and simple.
Meg Gill is and always will be a threat to craft beer and local business. She insults people with her elitest attitudes, from local bars that serve craft beer to the homebrewers who allowed her into their homes (just watch episode 1 of Beerland). Furthermore, her absolute aloofness towards the community she wants to enter coupled with her downright brazen attempts to disassociate herself with the very company who collects Golden Road's profits is dangerous. If she says it, don't trust it. There is no place for her, AB, or Golden Road in the Bay Area.

People that believe that Golden Road is not an infiltration arm of a multinational monopolistic corporation need to pull their heads out of the sand. Why not support your local breweries, that add commerce to your backyard, and employ craftspersons in your neighborhood?

Local Buisnesses are responsible to the communities they serve. Corporations are responsible to their Board of Directors and their bank accounts. This is a bad fit. There are several local small businesses that cater to those seeking a meal and a pint. The noise the smell The inevitable litter would be overwhelming to residents. the consumption of alcohol especially long hours and late into the night and early morning pose a safety risk to those who live in the neighborhood both from inebriated drivers and also violent crimes which often go hand-in-hand with drinking such as assault and rape. I don't want this in my neighborhood and I know my neighbors do not want it either it doesn't serve the neighborhood needs
Not a good place for a biergarten.
