It is a beautiful name. He would be proud to be named after his grandfather. Originality in names in America is the spice of life - so what if mainstream America had never heard of it? It would be embraced!!!

Unusual names are great. My best friend named her sons Hawkhurst and Durendal, bith with meaning from ancient times.

Either have a solid middle name or make Spyridon the middle name.

I think ethnic names are good as long as they are not used just to create attention for the parent so YOU GO FOR IT DUDE

Don't name your kid Micheal, so he can be just like everyone else... Let him standout!

Naming a son after the grandfather is a wonderful tradition. Family matters and the carrying on of name thru generations is incredibly beautiful. I hope Grandfather and child have a strong bond, made stronger by the shared name.

Perfect name, accepted in one culture and not overly used. I hate my name because it's too common. But when Spyridon is older let him choose between the two to go by.

As a person with a unique name, I think that you should name your kid Spyridon. Plus your kid will appreciate it as he grows up, it is always a good conversation starter.
