Please don't submit to North America's bland uniformity. Our glory is in our diversity, hence my own kids' names of Euan and Feonnagh. Your son will probably end up being called Don or Spy by his friends so he'll fit in fine. Don't let anyone call him Spiro, though. We all want to forget Spiro Agnew.

What a great name!!! Michael is beautiful as well but the problem with it is that it's too popular! I named my oldest son Jaden and he hates that there is always another Jaden in his class/school or even group activity.

I think Spiro is such a cool name so please do it. And why is ok for the wife to get her way with both childrens..if its a girl named after her mother and if its a boy named after her father why? Why are her parents more important? Thats so unfair and beyond disrespectful. Why not name the girl then after husbands mum? Name the boy 'Spiro Michael Nikolas Soukeras' he will thank you one day for sure. Its a nice traditon and boys love to be named after their paternal grandfathers. My friend regrets she didnt name her son after granddad and to this day her son asks her why not? My mum only could have 1 child and since no boy she told my dad to name me after his father, and he was so honoured, he cried she says at my baptism and kissed her hand, to this day my Pappou(Granddaddy) treats my mum like a Queen and loves her to bits. Keep greek traditon and first name so match surname. Best of luck Nicholas Soukeras, am on your side. Bravo! Cheers x

If a man is concerned with carrying on Greek tradition and culture then he should marry a GREEK woman with which to do that.... not someone from another culture then try to dominate his wife with his wishes.

This child is not of Greek heritage, he or she has two different heritages therefore your comment about tradition is not relevant

I think this entire petition is RIDICULOUS. If you two, as grown adults, cannot agree over the name of your child and have turned to the public for validation then you are not FIT to be parents nor should you be in a relationship, there is an obvious lack of personal integrity and ability in you both. I suggest you both come up with a completely different name that incorporates both names and is something unique for this unfortunate yet to be born child of yours. "Miro" is a lovely name that is unisex, suitable for a boy or a girl, and incorporates parts of both names. Really, get over yourselves and think about your child instead of your petty power play against each other...
