Godly Right to Name First-Born Son Spyridon

Being a family name, I see nothing wrong with this. In a world where we have kids named Apple, Pilot Inspektor, and North West... Spyridon is refreshing. It has meaning, it's not just a word that the parents like. It has history, family history, and that should have been enough reason for the wife (no disrespect meant here) to agree. Considering she is naming the child if it is a girl, and she also can choose the middle name if it is a son...this should be a no brainer. Marriage is about compromising...and will fail if there is none.

Since the name is his Father's I say YES! Name him Spyridon Michael Soukeras. Yes, it is different and YES it is not easy to say BUT Americans are lazy and they should embrace NEW names especially ones that are special to a family. God Bless!!

I think it's a really cool name, and not one you hear everyday. It would be a nice piece of history to pass down.

You can always compromise, Spyridon Michael Soukeras. But keep Spyridon as the first nam it's an awesome name (michael is too, but very common).

I think the name Elena for a girl is beautiful and Spyridon is honorable. It is part of your heritage. If a Scottish family can name their son Hamish or an Irish family name their son Seamus, why can't a Greek family name their son Spyridon? Do it.

The petition is for fun. My son (15) is named Spyridon - SPIRO for short. We live in Canada - not a common name here. He is very popular and his friends love the name. Never a problem.

i believe he should have the right to pick his sons name. especially since he has agreed to name the baby after her mother if it is a girl and he is letting her pick the middle name also. She needs to let him have a say also. If they are already fighting over the name, i can't wait to see what happens when they start fighting over whose turn it is to change the diaper...haha!

Give him the name. I got to name my daughter after my mother but lost the battle with my son's name. Give him a nickname your husband doesn't like (Maybe Donnie instead of Spyri" and it will all work out.

Spyridon is lovely; don't go with Michael, too common!

It is his right to name his first born son after his father...hell it's only right!

The selling point to me is the daughter is already named after her side of the family. Family names are important.
