I think it's a gorgeous name. I also think that if you've agreed to name the baby girl after her maternal grandmother, then it should be only fair to name the baby boy after the paternal grandfather. Michael can be a middle name. Also, I agree with you fella, everyone I know is named Michael. And Spyridon is a beautiful name. I had to look up the pronunciation of it, but when I heard it, I went, oh, yeah, that's so much better than Michael. I find it much more elegant than Michael. Michael sounds bereft and base, honestly. I hope you and your beautiful wife come to some sort of agreement. And goodness knows, I hope you and little Spyridon come out on top. Congratulations all the same on your child. Truly a blessing.

In many cultures the first boy is named after Dad and/or Grandad. It is a way of recognizing and following lineage steeped in tradition. The Muslims use the name of Father and Grandfather. So how about Nicholas Spyridon Soukeras for a boy? Otherwise, if Dad is insistant on Spyridon, use that as a legal name and quickly apply a nickname at home and in public. Good luck!

I personally think both parents should agree on the first name...using Spyridon as a middle name, however, shouldn't be debated. But as the first name, your wife should definitely have a say. Best of luck!
