Typically, boys are named after the Paternal Grandfather. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, my husband is Italian and if we had a son, his name would haven been my father-in-law's name: Domenico. I had no problem with that, if we had a daughter her name was to be: Cassiopeia, however, my Mother-in-law could not pronounce it at all. But we did name our daughter Cassandra, and she was called Cassa for the longest time while she was small!!
