What a cool name! I named my son William Carlyle Edmundson, III. At th time Ididn't like it, but he is a clone of his Dad and 6'6". It fits. Our second son he wanted to name after his brother that died. I said "but then your Mother has named all of my children!!' Since I am Irish, our second son was born near St. Patrick's day,we compromised and na med him Patrick Stuart. Now people ask if we named him after the guy on Star Trek! And we finally had a girl and combined our two Grandma's names..Anna Marie. There is room for compromise, and Spyridon is so cool and unique!! Beats boring old Debbie any day!! :)Peace.

I think it's a beautiful name, being a Greek with a very long hard to pronounce middle name I absolutely love it and I think he'll be happy to have such an unusual name in the US

we're in the 21st century, so-called "off-beat" names are the now the norm. His name will educate others.

Easier to follow Greek tradition when both parties are Greek. Perhaps compromise with paternal grandfather first name, maternal grandfather middle name, and call him by his middle name. We did similar and as our boys aged, they pulled in the Greek first name much more. Nothing wrong with a Syridon Michael going by Mike. :)

I like the unique quality of the name, Spyridon. The mother would not have to actually call him Spyridon. She could shorten it to "Don". Michael is too common.

Ethnic names are good and unique. It might be hard during their teens, but they will come up with their own nickname at some point.
