The Baby boy's name can be Spyridon Michael Soukeras and he can choose which to go by when he's old enough to decide. I think Spyridon is very cool name in a homogenous world.

Let him name the first if it's a boy, she can name the rest. I fought with my husband, too. Back then you didn't always find out the gender of the baby. He insisted it was a boy and would be named Norman after him. Wouldn't even choose a girl's name. It was a boy. 30 years later my husband died suddenly and now every time I speak my son's name it warms my heart to think of my husband, too. Best wishes!

You better be able to send him to a private school of one, otherwise he's gonna take a ton of abuse in public schools.

While "women's rights" have come a long way, and is absolutely a wonderful thing when it comes to equality, you can't help but become a little sad when women feel they have complete control over a child made by two people. I believe (especially in the case where the wife has control of a daughter's name) that the husband should have his right to name his son. I hope that even if he does not succeed in his 100,000 signatures, she will reconsider. This is her husband, the man she chose to love and respect until they part through death. That's sacred. If this is important to him, it should be important to her. I'm not a marriage expert, but I do know if my husband was that passionate about naming our son, I would never take that away from him.

Traditionally, first born son is named after someone on biological father's side; first born girl named after someone on biological mother's side. I hope you reach 100,000 Nicholas. If not, then Ksenlya, do the right thing. Honor your husband. If your child is a girl, then you get to name her.

How is it fair that she gets to name the baby after her mother if it's a girl, but the father doesn't get to name the baby if it's a boy? If she wants to stay married, she needs to learn how to compromise.

My daughters name is Spyridoula and we live in the US, and guess what, it is not a nice name, but because I love my mother in law, I was proud to do it!

Spyridon sounds like a noble name, especially knowing the naming of your child would be in honor of his grandfather. And for his mother's sake, he could be called "Spear" for short as well, right? I say go for it!

You SHOULD both agree, the only reason I'm signing is because I like different names, and there are a bazillion Michaels in the world.
