I think the name Spyridon will connect him to his roots and give him more of a sense of character.

It's Greek. You can call him Spiro for short if you would like. I think it unfair for the mother to say NO to the grandfather's name but she is all about her mother's name if it is a girl. START OVER If you can't compromise and don't use either name regardless. BUT I am not thrilled about the name Spyridon. However if it is a family name it has a lot more value and honor than a name you randomly pick or like. Not to mention one of my favorite professor's in college was named Spiro. So #TEAMDAD on this one. Sorry Momma

Sounds like he makes a very good case and why not have Michael or whatever as his middle name?

You should be able to name your son after your father.

God belss you both on the upcoming birth of your child. May I just say that maybe you can compromise and name the baby Michael Spyridon Soukeras? That should satisfy both of you and the baby's grandfather. I wish all of you the best of luck.

Why not consider Michael Spyridon? That way the baby will have both grandfathers' names.
