Michael is such a common name. Have you ever heard of the research about people with unique names living more meaningful, exciting lives because expectations for them are different because of their name? Spyridon sounds like he would be an adventurer, maybe the next Dos Equis man and becomes the Most Interesting Man in the World. Howver, Michael sounds like he would b an electrician, or a plumber or work some desk job in a coroporate office, no offense but he might have a better time being named Spyridon, plus it sounds like the name of a Greek or Roman god so it is really bad ass.

unique names are a blessing especially when they are linked to family. I hope whatever name is chosen, that the baby is healthy and you are all happy.

As an Italian with a traditional Italian name I think ethnic names are better than having something common.

At first, my desision was Michael. But after reading some of your petition and some of the. comments, I changed my mind and vote Spyridon. My reasons are two-part. First, I believe that family names are very important and should always be considered so to carry on the legacy, whenever possible. Second, you can always shorten it to "Spiro", as many have done in the past.

I believe if the child is a male that Spyridon would be the only choice name for the bloodline carrier! However if the baby is a female, choose a name that could serve similar to an acronym between your favorite names....or let momma pick!

I think Spyridon Michael would be a great strong name, and a nice compromise.
