Hands Down.... Spyridon! I'm not even Greek, but think tradional names are being lost in todays culture. What a GREAT name!!! He can go by "Spy", or "Ridon"...how many Mikes do we all know?

I vote for a compromise MICHAEL SPYRIDON, as children can be cruel & "Mikey" is a cute nickname :)

Name the baby Michael,at least that is a normal Americanized name.the spyridon name is just weird and the kid would likely be teased when he reaches school age.

I'd say go with Spyridon. Although I think Michael is a beautiful name, Sypridon has significance, strength and personal significance. Your son will appreciate it later. I "gave in" and named my son a very "American" name and now I wish I had named him after his grandfather, Leonidas, as I had originally planned. Plus, your wife can name every other child - may you be blessed with many more!

Definitely Michael! I can't even pronounce the other name! Kids will constantly pick on the poor child!

There are a billion Michaels born every day. Sometimes it's just as bad for a kid to have nothing special about their name than an unusual one. I hope the kid isn't made fun of for having an unusual name, but if you give him a cool haircut and clothes and teach him some swagger than everyone will adjust. I recommend Spyridon and give him a cool nickname that he goes by everyday like "Rider". Then everyone is happy, including the kid.
