My grandfathers name was Spyridon. It's a great name, go for it. There's enough Michael's in the world or use it as his middle name. I like Spyridon Michael. Please make sure people pronounce Spyridon correctly. It's a good name.

Although I do firmly believe that naming a child should be equally agreed upon, I do feel that this is an incredibly unique name and would be far more better than Michael. I went to school with 10 "Michaels," three of them had the same last name. I named my daughter "TygerLilye" as my grandfather's favorite flowers were tiger lilies and I wanted to honor him that way.

Please please name your son Spyridon the happiness and love your father will have is priceless. I asked my daughter in law that I will only ask her one favor to please name her baby (if it's a boy) after his grandfather she did and my husband a simple man was sooooo proud. Also my fathers me was Spiros do please I ask your wife give your father in law the joy of hearing his name when you all call out his name sake it will make all you very proud. By the way I was born in the USA!

Since your husband is the head of your household, you should honor his wishes to name your first son after his father.

I really think he'll appreciate having a unique name with family history attached. Besides, its embarrassing to be Michael #4 in Geometry class.

I think your husbands choice for a name is sweet as well as traditional. Ask if you can give him a nickname. That's what I did when my husband didn't care for my choice of names.

I reject your arguments, but I support the name Spyridon on its own merits.
