Greek names are so awesome indeed! Everyone has common names such as Michael, John, Luke, etc. in the US and Western Europe. If anything, have Michael be his middle name - problem solved.

This family has one chance to fulfill the father's culture's naming tradition. While I don't personally like the name Spyridon, it feels like an appropriate way to honor the father's family heritage.

Every Micheal I know, besides my uncle, hates the name because it is so common. Let the child have his family history with him always. That is one thing that is sadly dying in America is ethnic pride and tradition. It gets watered down more and more with every generation. Kseniya, give him this one thing and he did say you could name all the rest.
