As an American not knowing anything about a culture giving all 4 of my kids Greek names because my husband said that's the way it's supposed to be 20 some odd years later I am happy I followed the tradition don't let Traditions die that's what makes us all individuals God bless you and your little Spiro

It sounds better than Michael, wherever I see MIchael I don't know if I should think of a boy or a girl; also it sounds great in russian too. in russian i guess they'll add an extra 'ov' and replace the 'y' with 'i' but overall sounds great! also I think there are other names in greek that sound this cool and michael would be on the bottom of the list.

Yes, my love, we shall have as many children as you wish but first you shall "bear me a warrior" and we will name him "SPYRIDON" and he will always protect and guard over his younger brothers and sisters.
Enough said!

Spyridon it is a Great name . Nichola Soukeras in my hoble opinion your points are valid and i like the fact that in point 2 you stated if the child is female all rights to naming the child are hers ( your spouse ) (that is fare) . Maybe i m biased ( i m from Greece) but in my hoble opinion you are right . ending i will say this : i will hope you both agree on a name that you both are happy with .

Perhaps, an individual’s understanding of the connection to existence comes from their cultural environment. There are many human cultures and belief systems. The pain experienced by woman when giving birth is common to all human cultures. I am too tired to contemplate the comprises. Perhaps withdrawing this petition would be an act and gift of love exchanged within the family. Perhaps.
