For many decades now, The West Village of New York has lead the fight for gay rights. In my opinion, I think that it is a huge slap in the face that “the powers that be” have decided to reroute our gay pride parade this year. Small businesses that cater to our community will be effected, and in a word, it’s simply not fair. If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it! Keep the Pride Parade in the West Village. NO REROUTING!!

Nathaniel Siegel has made a great argument for rerouting the Gay Pride Parade. As one of the original marchers in the first march, in June of 1970, I agree with what he is saying.

We honor ourselves and our history on 24 June 2018 in NYC by Going West to the Gay West Village !
