GMWS Petition to Keep Mr. Seavey

Mr. Seavy's passion is contagious and it is such a shame to see him go. If at all possible please allow for him to return next year.

Fundraising efforts would be so much more effective if the school was transparent about financial planning, needed uses of funds and calls to action for specific funding to maintain certain roles and programs. If this is due to lack of funds, why not a call to action to fund this position? I suspect there are many (myself included) that would readily give to allow this wonderful teacher to continue to enrich our lives. Can the school afford to lose such a seasoned resource?

From the first Rose Ceremony I attended at Green Meadow 4 years ago, Mr. Seavey's presence as an artistic representative for the school invoked immediate confidence in the professionalism of the entire teaching staff at Green Meadow. As a parent, I look for teachers like him to ensure that my children are receiving this level of talent in their artistic instructors as well as Mr. Seavey's unparalleled professionalism and charisma. The short sided nature of dismissing his value for the school is simply a failure of vision and leadership in creating a staff that evokes confidence. He is type of teacher I would pick a school for. Unbelievable decision, he deserves better.

A few years ago I had the distinct pleasure to be a parent chaperone on an extended class trip to Boston and the surrounding areas with Jordan Seavey. I was able to get to know him better and to observe firsthand his interaction with the students. I witnessed the admiration and respect that the students have for him. Jordan is a smart, funny, creative, and deeply caring person, and he always has the best interests of his students in mind. My daughter, Sophia, told me many times stories of Jordan; I could distinctly hear her love for him as a teacher and as a counselor. The events surrounding his firing are unknown to us. It really came as a shock considering that many of the students have essentially grown up with him during their time at Green Meadow, and for him to be let go as they enter their Senior Year does not seem right at all. I sincerely hope that the powers that be reconsider their decision and to welcome Jordan Seavey back. Respectfully, Carl Carvalho

I have witnessed Mr. Seavey during orchestra practice several times while I was waiting to pick up my daughter. The way he was conducting and leading the students left a deep impression on me. Not just the music, but the process in which the music was made. I was looking forward for my daughters to have such an experience and hope the collegium will listen to the community and act accordingly.

My daughters are still young to be Mr. Seavy's students, but we always felt he was one of the kindest, pleasant, authentic teachers with good sense of humor and style! He is a great asset to our community and whenever I see him on the stage or at the events, his presence make the performance even more powerful and amazing. Mr. Seavy is one of faces of GMWS that will attract more perspective families. My husband and I truly wish he will stay until my daughters are old enough to be his students, because music is big for us and one of the reasons why we chose Green Meadow.

Mr. Seavey was the adviser who would meet and communicate with Leon from where Leon was at. Which made his messages more acceptable and weigh more. His care to students are authentic and down to the earth. I really appreciate his passion and wish he could stay and best yet be one of my daughter's teachers in several years. At the same time, let's not compare or talk down other teachers while supporting Mr. Seavey. Bill Pernice was one of my chorus teachers during my Sunbridge years. English being my second language and being new to this country, I could never catch up with any songs then gave up singing. It was not until Bill took over our class I started singing, happily. I hope this not a war but an opportunity to work together for our children. I hope by the time the school is ready to hire Mr. Seavey back he hasn't rooted with another school and would come back to us. I'm in for miracles. With love and gratitude.

Mr. Seavey inspired and connected with my boys at least as much as any other teacher at GMWS. The most special part of the school is its music program; cutting overhead by letting go young and talented music teachers, who are able to engage and connect with teenagers, seems awfully short-sighted.

Mr. Seavey is one of the funniest people I've ever met. He keeps joy in his classroom, and if the student body is lacking happiness or energy, he lifts us all up. He has a passion for his job, and that matters. He has so much passion for teaching and he is wonderful with all the students. He makes everyone smile by cracking jokes at Wednesday morning meeting, or making conversation in the hallways. He is the one and ONLY perfect fit for our chorus and band teacher.

Mr. Seavey is the most energetic and musically talented teacher our school has ever seen. His relationship with the students is one of a kind and there is nobody that could replace such an awesome teacher. The school has seen many difficulties this past year and the ultimate worst thing it could do now is send away another beloved teacher.

Mr. Seavey is the best band/chorus/private lesson teacher. Bill Pernice will only ruin each class and make every student miserable.

Mr. Seavey has been and continues to be a wonderful teacher, making the music department of GMWS very attractive. When reading the comments of many parents, recent and current students, it is clear how positively he has influenced all of us! This news came as a total shock, as I did not receive any email informing me of his departure. I kindly request more information to the reasons that lead to this decision.

He's an amazing musician, and you should really give him a chance to teach kids who want to be taught, since then they will excel incredibly

Mr. Seavey's positivity, passion for music, and contagious energy made music classes some of the most fun and engaging parts of the day at Green Meadow. He has always shown incredible dedication to the school, the community, and his students. Personally, Mr. Seavey had a huge impact on my experience at Green Meadow, spending a significant amount of time outside of class studying music with me and several other students that wished to expand our musical education. Getting rid of Mr. Seavey would be a MONUMENTAL mistake by the school. Green Meadow will undoubtedly be worse without him.

I agree with the above request for more info. We feel terrible that he is leaving as we viewed him as a wonderful asset to the school. My son when learning of his leaving was extremely upset . He has really enjoyed him as a teacher in this school!

Mr. Seavey, i really appreciate your care and all the things you did for students, Those early morning moments although short, i see a great teacher in you!

What I have witnessed is that Jordan Seavey has an incredible rapport with teenagers, which cannot be valued highly enough. In addition, he adds an element of fun and entertainment to every community event I've seen him at. Jordan has also been one of the advisor's for the rising senior class, which does not seem to have been given much importance in making this decision. I love that my son and I both find him approachable and easy to talk to, a ready resource for interactions with the school. GM would be poorer for losing Mr. Seavey.

Always a pleasure to see Mr. Seavey. Adored by my kids. Perfect fit for Waldorf. Please bring him back. We miss him already!!!!
