A Global Call to Adopt the Humanitarian Charter for Preventing Sectarian Strife and Building Global Peace

PanIslamic Alliance

Praise be to God, Who commands justice and kindness and forbids immorality, wrongdoing, and oppression. Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, sent as a mercy to all worlds.

In accordance with its mission to unify the Islamic Ummah and foster global peace among peoples and sects, and recognizing that sectarian, religious, doctrinal, and ethnic strife remains one of the gravest threats to the integrity and progress of human society, the PanIslamic Alliance hereby proclaims the launch of:

“The Humanitarian Charter for Preventing Strife and Building Global Peace”
a reference document that speaks to both Islamic and human conscience, calling for the rejection of hatred and violence, and the promotion of a culture of mutual respect and dignified dialogue among sects, religions, and communities. This Charter seeks to serve the cause of social justice and lay the foundations for lasting peace.

Core Principles of the Charter:

  1. Recognition and Respect for Pluralism
Acknowledging religious, doctrinal, and intellectual diversity as legitimate and worthy of respect.
  2. Criminalization of Incitement to Hatred and Violence
Condemning all forms of incitement—verbal, symbolic, or otherwise—that lead to exclusion, division, or conflict.
  3. Freedom of Thought and Constructive Critique
Affirming the right to academic and intellectual criticism of ideas, doctrines, and ideologies, while maintaining respect for individuals and human dignity.
  4. Internal Review by Religious and Intellectual Institutions
Urging religious and cultural authorities to conduct critical self-evaluation and review their internal discourses and traditional texts when such content contains incitement, exclusion, or justification of violence.
  5. Prohibition of Religious or Sectarian Justification of Violence
Forbidding the exploitation of religion, ideology, or sectarian identity as a pretext for war, occupation, or injustice.
  6. Denial of Platform Access to Violators
Prohibiting any entity that does not abide by the Charter’s principles from using the signatories’ pulpits or public platforms.
  7. Education for Social Peace
Promoting a curriculum of peace and coexistence within educational and religious institutions.
  8. Strengthening Solidarity Within Diverse Societies
Supporting initiatives that build cooperation and compassion between all members of society regardless of identity.
  9. Formation of Local Mediation Committees
Establishing community-based mediation teams in each country to intervene and resolve disputes before they escalate.

Call to Action:

The PanIslamic Alliance, in full commitment to the values of this Charter, calls upon:

  • Official governmental and international bodies.
  • Religious authorities, scholars, and thinkers.
  • Civil society organizations and faith-based institutions.
  • Reformist and political movements.
  • Universities and educational and cultural centers.

To adopt this Charter, endorse it publicly, and embrace it as a reference for intellectual, religious, political, and media engagement — to help build a world governed by justice, compassion, and mutual understanding.

Let it be known: when strife ignites, it does not distinguish between the just and the unjust, and when fire burns, it spares no one. Let this Charter be our shield — for us and for generations to come — a covenant raised toward the heavens and declared before humankind, affirming that we are advocates of peace without submission, and of unity without division.
