Don't isolate people who can't afford private vehicles.

It makes ecological and economic sense!

This would be excellent. It has always seemed illogical that there is no station between Dumfries and Sanquhar a distance of over 20 miles .

We have been requesting our MP & MSP for some years to open either Closeburn or Thornhill station. Closeburn would be most accessible for the regular bus route.

Regular visitor to Dumfries. Nearly always use public transport. This would be a transformation of my journey into something civilsed

Electrification of the Line from Carlisle to Lockerbie via Dumfries and Lochmaben would allow electric trains to run to Manchester or London via this route and freight trains

Reopening this can provide a local train service on the west coast main line calling at Beattock in the future, Lockerbie to Dunfries via lochmaben offering alternative route if the main line is shut between Carlisle and Lockerbie another alternative to a bus service. I am involved with the Beattock Station Action Group also a member of rail future Scotland.

I would very much like trains to stop at Thornhill so I could get on there instead of driving to Dumfries or Sanquhar.

We really need the railway back. This is a no brainer. Anyone with eyes to see sand look at the change the Borders Railway has made.

This whole region would benefit from this. Make it happen.
