A proper link to Edinburgh from Dumfries would be really beneficial for the local community

If the rail link is re-established, Edinburgh will not seem so far away, geographically as well as politically!

This is a brilliant idea, having to drive to Lockerbie is inconvenient and the 3 hour bus trip is not practical for day trips to the capital city. Let's hope that this will be as successful as the reinstated Waverley Line in the Borders.

The Waverley Line is a great success, we're always being encouraged to use public transport so put it in place for people to use. If you build it people will come.

We need this rail link. Dumfries is so difficult to get to by road or rail. We feel disconnected.

Appalling that we can't get to our capital from this major market town voted best place to live in Britain in 1997. Also appalling we can't get to Stranraer directly by train even though we are on the major route west to Ireland!!!

We should have direct access where possible to our nations main cities.

It's absolutely ludicrous in the 21st century that the south west of Scotland i.e. west of Lockerbie has such poor rail links to it's capital city.
