Give us back our recess

We need the recess to study for exams

we need the rest

Equal access to education, we demand our recess.

The university prides itself in having the interests of the students as a priority - something I have believed up until the decision to take away our October recess. Expecting us to keep going until after our exams to have a break is unreasonable and certainly not in our best interest; especially when the majority of students wanted to continue with classes and tests; yet were not able to.

We want our recess back. Please and thank you.

Expenses have been incurred if the recess is taken away!!

Recess is not a luxury. Students NEED these breaks to be in touch with family, and take a break from the stressful university environment. Management should care about the students' wellbeing.

Take away our recess yet most of the ones affected aren't even protesting

It's not fair to those students who have already made plans

Stop giving the protesters power, give back the students their October recess and stand up for what is right. Make a change!

We have organised a hike and have paid all the expenses. No cancellation fees applicable. Some of the hikers comes form overseas and the Cape to join us. They have aeroplane tickets booked and will be going back home soon after the hike - so there will not be 'another chance'.
