University of Pretoria - Give Us Back Our October Recess

Instead of sacrificing the studies of students who are actually trying to achieve results, use the security guards standing around on campus and stop the protests. They are protesting for an unworthy cause, as I agree that basic education should be accessible to all but tertiary education is a privilege and should be treated as such. My family have made enormous sacrifices for me to get a tertiary education that is currently being halted by the people who feel they deserve everything for free.

I have planned my study schedule around the week recess in October. If er do not have a recess I will not have enough time to study for all the tests in the week thereafter as well as the exams as I will have class untill 17:30 every day. I did not have any part in the disruptions on campus and I will not be punished for the wrongsdoings of other.

This recess is critical for preparation toward the second semester test week and exams for engineering students (such as myself) as there is simply not enough time during a normal lecture week to cover all fundamental concepts required. Not to mention recess projects to be completed over long hours in the workshops which is not possible in a normal lecture week.
Simply allow for more self study and consultation time to compensate for the lectures lost.

I support fees must fall though I do NOT support how protesting is being done by so many(disruption). I do not want to be affected, like this, after still trying to go to all my classes.

I support the petition in which the students of the University of Pretoria (Including myself) oppose that out recess be taking away
