University of Pretoria - Give Us Back Our October Recess

As per reasons stated above.

I am a second year Accounting student who had to write my last year's tests this week and next which are also my last assessments for the year before exams. This is the last chamce we have as Accounting students to improve our year marks and make the exam entrances. We have all be working exceptionally hard to prepare for the tests but this quarter in general our lecturers and advisors have put effort into helping us get here. We have turned up to our test venues only to be disturbed and have our papers thrown in the air as if it is nothing. So we have done nothing wrong to be punished as such we are willing to write our tests during the first week of the 4 th quarter. This recess is meant to aid us in preparing for exams not just relax and chill. I sympathize with our Dean as I know the position she is in and I understand but for many this recess is needed in order for us to really get prepared for exams which are literally at our door step.

I have serious work plans for recess and I can't afford to miss it as i am assisting in paying my fees.

We not slaves, students need a break. Why should the burden fall on those who still go to class when protests happen. Why doesn't the University handle the situation better. Why is there politics in education?

We need our much deserved rest after working hard throughout the quarter

I agree with this petition allow students to attend university

I believe that it is not only physical & mental that recess is a necessity but also pshycological. Students deserve to go to their respective home to take a break in a relaxed environment that is familiar to them.

People need breaks, especially in varsity.

Highly unfair to those who are willing to learn and advance in their chosen career. No time for the drop outs

I'm sorry. I cannot give up my October recess. I support the feesmustfall movement as much as the next person but I have flight tickets I just can't let go to waste
