Give Canadians access to permethrin-treated clothing to prevent tick bites/Lyme disease

Allow the use. After 4 bites this season so far, I use commercial permethrin to treat my clothing now, it would be great if we could actully have the proper products instead of coating my clothes with commercial products used to deal with home barns and farms.

It is very difficult to totally protect yourself if you go off-trail in the brush without special clothing.

For individuals who work in the woods permethrin treated clothing should not only be allowed but highly recommended by Health Canada to help prevent lyme disease.

Prevention is always better than treatment and does not cost our health care system. Let people protect themselves and their family's!

Would rather have clothes sprayed by aprofessional than try and spray them myself.

I have severe reactions to bugs of all descriptions and fear my grandchildren may have similar reactions. Therefore if there is something that can prevent bad reactions such as Lyme desease, I would like it available to all Canadians.

I do some of my work in a part of Nova Scotia where ticks are abundant and can be exposed to them each time I go into the field. This would be marvelous for me and my students.

My husband, and three close neighbours have all been treated for Lyme disease. I live in Lunenburg county and would like to be able to hike worry-free.

Ticks love me. I can't even go into my garden without trying to dress so they can't get on me. I would immediately purchase this protective cothing if it was available in Nova Scotia.

Stonewalling by Health Canada is not acceptable. We need answers. Just because the Federal Conservative government doesn't support scientific research in this country doesn't mean Health Canada has a right to withold answers as to why this clothing is not available in Canada.

I live in Fall River and have pulled several ticks from my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever in the past 2 weeks. One Tick I brought to the vet who id'd it as a black legged tick. Although I can protect the dog with treatment to prevent it, I'd like to protect myself and family. This clothing would be great if it were available.

This is the way to go. I have used the product on my bug shirt and it works. I was given a bottle of permethrin bought in the USA.

It makes no sense for Health Canada to recommend this preventive measure outside Canada but not within Canada.As a physician I wonder about this as prevention of Lyme disease is by far the best treatment for this potentially devastating illness.CC.

Had a lyme disease scare recently and would very much like to prevent tick bites in future

We have two young grandsons who we take for nature walks often. I would be great to have the option to outfit them in permathrin-treated clothing.
