As Student Nurses get a maintenance loan that is capped at £2324 a year.
We get a bursary of £4493 maximum per year.
The cheaper halls at UCLan are £3068 a year leaving £3749 to live off as a student living in halls.
How people who live at home and have children cope who's knows?
But it's not fair that we miss out on a potential £3000 in UCLan advantage credits especially seeing as we have to fund travelling to and from placements... it's frustrating that we work hard and other students get to play hard!

I have been hearing from so many of you about the crushing reality of balancing placement commutes with the rising costs of living on campus. Your stories about these financial barriers are the fuel behind this push for fairness.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight lifting because it proves I am not the only one struggling to balance placement costs and basic survival. The fact that so many of you resonate with this fight gives me hope that we can finally force a conversation with the university.

It is honestly ridiculous. My sister is a student nurse and she is constantly broke. They deserve the same support as every other student at uclan.

Nursing students have it so rough compared to everyone else. The placements are brutal enough without having to worry about paying for travel out of pocket.
