Give the people of Shevington the Vote on less Tax

Absolutely disgraceful. Another rip off by Labour council. Are the likes of Standish, Wigan Lane, Highfield, Orrell etc not desirable places to live. Again the few paying for the majority. Why a vote. It is obvious we should be equal.

I am aware that Shevington is a desirable area and believe this is the reason. Everyone looks after their properties in there own way to achieve their goals of how they want to live. We are in Wigan and this should be adjusted correctly to be treated fairly with Wigan Council. We've already paid higher figures for our houses to be able to live in Shevington so why penalise us for doing so?

See no reason why we should be paying a premium. WE have the worst children's playground in the borough and it's out of bounds for as soon as it rains due to flooding. Yes the village is pretty, but that's down to volunteers who don't benefit from our extra taxes.

Ms Fletcher's comments are interesting. She is, of course, a Shevington Parish Councillor!
Can she give more information about "crony contractors" "inflated prices" and examples of work carried out that has been paid for twice?

ive never wanted to pay towards shevington parish it annoys me. i live on shevi moor and we dont class ourselves as being part of shevington.

In my experience the Parish Council is corrupt and wastes tax payers monies to pay inflated prices to their crony contractors for work which tax payers have already paid to Wigan Council for that same work.
