10 minutes to eat lunch? That is ridiculous! Children should not be expected to stuff their lunches down. It unhealthy for children to not be able to eat lunch in a relaxing atmosphere and to not be given adequate time to eat.

My kids go to Kellog Marsh in Marysville but they don't get enough time to eat during lunch more often than not. I will always advocate for more time during lunch. If parents in a local school feel their kids don't have enough lunch time, I believe them! We've been battling this for the past 3 years!

20, even 30 minutes is not a realistic amount of time for a lunch period. When it takes a kid 10-15 minutes to stand in line for lunch and find a seat it is obvious they are going to visit with friends and eat the "snaky" type food first and then they have no time to beable to eat their main course. Students are not going to function properly if they are hungry all day

I fully agree that our children need to be protected and have longer than 10 minutes for lunch! Especially if the children have hot lunches - they have even less time to eat after getting their food.

This should be for ALL schools! I have yet to meet a child that can devour their lunch on command. Schools need to respect this!

Have never understood why our children aren't given a longer lunch break. No one can eat in the little time they are given. No wonder there is so much food wasted

This needs to be county wide

Children should not be forced through a gambit of 8 hour days of school, funding which relies on standardized testing results, an hour of homework, and last but not least; shortened lunch breaks. Government run schools are deplorable. The only reason they survive is because they are forced, and the alternatives are unaffordable to most. Lunches for the little ones should be a MINIMUM of 20 minutes. Our kids are not cattle.

There should be a lot more time at lunch for children to eat their lunch! I have one kid left out of 10 in school, his senior year and I'll tell you I sat with my kids at lunch almost everyday because the money I pay for them to eat when they would barley get sat down to eat and then get told to dump their tray and go outside! Absolutely sickening!

This is a problem at all SWSD schools. My son was at Big Lake and is now at Mary Purcell. Same issue. Please rectify this.
