My daughter comes home starving everyday, and sufficient time to eat would help this matter I believe. Children have difficulty balancing socializing with eating. More time allotted for eating might be helpful in increasing the chances of food being consumed.

Some children only receive one hardy meal a day--their free school lunch. It's important they have time to eat it because there might not be much dinner when they get home.

If my kids get hot lunch they only have a few minutes to eat once they get through the line and sit down. Even if they bring their lunch and want to buy milk they have the same problem. They do need more time to actually be able to eat. I know they don't have enough room in the cafeteria so have to squeeze a bunch of different lunch times in. Maybe it's time to rethink this and have some of the kids eat in their classroom. It's not ideal but it changed to this when I was going to Jefferson school because we did t all fit in the cafeteria any more.

This has been an issue for years. Mu oldest daughter who is now in 10th grade complained about this every year when she was at Big Lake. Another issue is that many teachers allow the kids only 3 seconds for drinks of water at the fountain during the day. If kids need to bring water bottles to school so they can stay hydrated (especially on PE days), this should be communicated to parents.

30 minutes should be allowed for all SWSD students. If my son needs to use the restroom or he gets hot lunch (on occasion) he doesn't have enough time to get lunch his little belly, especially as a kinder learning a host of new skills like time management and how to eat and socialize at the same time. 30 minute minimum should be standard.

My kid gets sick more often (making him miss school) due to the fact that he doesn't get the time needed to eat his lunch and keep him strong. Its about time petitions like this get started in all school districts.

Nutrition is key to a good education. Rushing kids or not letting them finish and leave hungry is wrong.

I'm the legal guardian of a student at BL and she never finishes her lunch and is a slower eater. She needs at least 20 minutes to eat or she will be super hungry!

I worked out there and seen this first hand they also stand in line for long periods at a time. Lots of food being thrown away due to not enough time to eat. For my grandchildren's sake I hope Trump is serious about kids having a choice in education and charter schools become recognized. Will help with schools being so over crowded.

All school children need time to eat, forcing them to gulp down their food as quickly as possible teaches them horrible eating habits, and recess right after they eat as fast as they can is also unhealthy.

Our child is so hungry every day after school because he didn't have enough time to eat his lunch! Shorten a recess or something to give these kids more time!
