As a Brooklynite, I must say these tolls are a far cry from the original statements that indicated the tolls would be eliminated once the bridge was paid for...remembering the 1960's. Toll reduction equity for Staten Island and Brooklyn would be a great accomplishment!

The toll was about $7 when I moved to nj now it's $17. Traveling to see my family vis versa is too expensive.

I live in Brooklyn and work in SI paying this toll daily is a real financial burden. One entire paycheck a month goes to paying the toll.

The bridge is not only ridiculously prices, but the work is never completed on this bridge. Always traffic and lane closures. If the tolls were not allowed to be raised while work is being done the toll would be about $6.

if you live in brooklyn and want to go to new jersey i go through manhattan to save the 17 now dollars the city heads complain about the city traffic and conjestion pollution and noise well he a great reason not to increase vz toll
