Yes, the MTA should extend the same discount plan they extend to Staten Islanders to us Brooklynites. Who travel over the Verrazzano bridge to shop, go to restaurants, visit relatives, go to school, the zoo, work in Staten Island or New Jersey.
Additionally, the MTA should consider off-peak and senior citizens EZpass discounts, to us New Yorkers. Similar to the discount plans offered to holders of New Jersey EZpass.

I agree, this is lopsided, whats the reason for staten island residents receiving the discount and not brooklyn? It should be equal both sides. How much higher can this till go?

This is disturbing!!!
I have two children who live on the island. I want to visit my children and my grandchildren!
Now that I am retired due to my health and limited resources, I find it sad that this hike will add to my disagreement!
It was bad enough before with such a high cost!!!!
Stop using the residents!!!!!!

My father lives in Staten Island and my son on weekends is with his father in NJ. This told is astronomical and needs to be stopped from increasing this much. As a Brooklyn resident with family on the other side I'd like the same discount as the Staten Island side gets.

This has been going on long enough. If you live in Brooklyn and need to travel to Staten Island 5 times a week, you're paying 200 bucks a month. That's 2400 a year and when you make less than 15k a year, or as a student making way less, it's highway robbery ! It just makes it even more difficult to make ends meet.

You are making it increasingly difficult to leave Brooklyn and spend money in Staten Island.

As a resident of Bay Ridge, we cannot go to SI as much as we want to due to cost of the toll. We sometimes want to take our children to museums and zoos but it's too expensive !

Its not fair to discriminate against those who live in Brooklyn by forcing them to pay high prices while people in Staten Island have been getting a discount for years. Brooklyn residents deserve the same, equal discounts !!

seriously though, the bridge makes enough money in a year to build a new bridge EVERY YEAR. why should we pay for the same old bridge? ridiculous.

As a Bay Ridge resident I purposely avoid going to Staten Island due to the bridge toll. I would love to take my kids to the zoo there, or the Children's museum, or go shopping at the many businesses on the island. Please consider extending the same courtesy of reduced tolls to the Brooklyn residents too.

I am a student and this is a killer for me. The discount should be given both ways.
