I feel this shop should be granted a liecence to sell alcohol Due to the fact this shop has sentimental value to the family and that the Salvation Army centre existed when the shop was liecence as a off licence .

Bring convenice back to our area!

The salvation army has no relevance to this shops licence as alcoholics will buy whereever they can. This shop sold alcohol along with other sales for many MANY years prior to the building opposite and should be able to continue to do so.

Cov city council are being so silly, I hope they see sense quickly and give you guys the licence! Good luck guys xxx

It's a real shame that honest and hard working people get penalized for errors in the establishment. The Gill family are very well known, liked and respected in Coventry and it will be unjust not to give back their license.

I do not know the business owners but however do come from a family who own and operate properties with an off licence and other licensed premises in the Coventry area for nearly 30 years. This case seems clear cut and the council, police and Salvation Army centre manager have zero concern for the interests of an independently run family business. Such businesses have been the lifeblood of communities in every city and town nationwide. I'm sure if it was large multiple operator these so called concerned parties would soon grant the license. Unless a clear track record of the business in question can be demonstrated as being a problem/nuisance there is no reason to oppose the granting of the licence BACK to a property that has previously had one for decades. I have no reason to believe this to be the case as it would make zero sesne for the family riaisng this public petition to withhold such details. The council should be supporting local businesses cause they are happy to allow business rate increases when it suits them. The Police should do their job and actually engage with and work the with licencees and the Salvation Army manager should focus on their work on helping the people who use the centre to develop and exercise self control. Why did the Salvation Army pursue the building of a lifehouse centre in Coventry city center within yards of mutliple destinations that sell alcohol. Just ridiculous the double standards and hypocrisy at hand.
