Could the girls were bike/volleyball type nylon shorts under the skirts during the warmer months? Tights will be too warm.

At first I thought this was a joke -I cannot believe that the STM administration would even consider forcing the nylons/tights requirement. In this day and age - this seems truly ridiculous. Actually I'm still hoping to find out that this is some sort of joke.

I think that there have been MANY changes at STM over the past four or five years that people do not like. Principals leaving, teachers leaving, and seasoned administration leaving without hesitation. Who or what is in charge at STM? A certain person or a wad of cash or catholic education? Get your mind right Bustle and do the right thing for once! Do you want tight pants or short skirts or bare legs....let go and let God and if you make a rule....follow through. Respect can be found but you aint got it right now. Good luck wih this because money talks and soon enough someone else will put forth the money to chamge your mind!

Tights are really, really unnecessary, and there is absolutely no reason we should be wearing them. New rules should be enforced, not new uniforms.

honestly, i know you guys want this done but it is just a waste of time no school administration is going to look at a petition that was signed by the students. If the school implemented the rule then they have probably thought of all the pros and cons of this

Another nonsensical expense.

Graduate of Bishop Moore Catholic High School, Orlando, FL. We wore socks with our skirts. Solid colored for underclassmen and printed ones for seniors only. We also were allowed to wear navy blue pants in the winter.

Let's make positive changes not negative. The new dress code is expensive and ridiculous. The clothes do not fit my daughter well and I do not like only choice of pants coming from the Catholic bookstore. Spending more on clothes every yeast will decrease a persons spending on charity and fund raising for the school. Girls get hit harder than boys that is for sure. Dislike this new code very much!

This is a complete double standard. The guys are aloud to wear shorts that fit the school policy. If the school thinks that the girls aren't following the policy maybe they should do something about it. I know numerous girls who had very short skirts, but they didn't get called down to the office once or sent home. The school can't complain if they aren't even following through with disciplining. I think that if the school still insists, which it will, a good comprimise would be: tights must be worn during the months that males are no longer allowed to wear shorts. That fits one of the reasons that they want us to wear 'weather appropriate clothes'.

Socks are perfectly fine to wear.

This new rule is ridiculous. Why should the girls at STM be required to wear nylons under their skirts? It's very uncomfortable in the summer and when I asked someone why this was going on, their response was that the way girls sit is inappropriate and it causes distractions. This is not ok and it teaches girls that they are sexual objects. Not cool.

This new dress code is not friendly to the students or the parents. Let make a positive empact on our school not a negative.

Who does this honestly benefit? Teach men to respect women instead of teaching women to accommodate sick habits of opinions.
