GIRL SCOUT TROOP 3205 PETITION FOR BLINKING RED LIGHT ON 218TH STREET AND SEAMAN AVENUE

I live at 270 Seaman right on that corner, and have taken to crossing 218 on the east side of the intersection then walking west on the north side of 218 to avoid accidentally getting hit by lazy, inattentive drivers coming into that intersection. I've often thought that road spikes would be be appropriate, but a blinking light and rumble strips will certainly help!

Plus double parking is a big issue in inwood

Thank you for taking the lead on this. I've been saying for years the NYP should station a patrol car at this intersection to make extra money and make it safer.

Minimum flashing stop. Ideally a real traffic light.

I cross this (three way, not four way) intersection nearly daily as I walk to the gym. Despite being an adult and cautious, I've nearly been hit by negligent and unobservant cars many times.

My kids have been within inches of being hit by cars on numerous occasions. This is a terrible accident waiting to happen. Cars fly through the stop signs all day and night.

Live in the neighborhood and care about safety.

This intersection is on my street. It is really dangerous. Rumble strips, a speed bump, or a light might help.

I grew up in the neighborhood and that corner is so dangerous especially when Columbia university has sporting events.

I have lived a block from this intersection for 18 years and tense up every time I have to cross here, or know that one of my family members is headed in that direction. When you also consider the general failure of the 34th Precinct to look out for traffic safety, a traffic light is necessary here, and so I have thought for years.
