We are in favor of keeping the wake hours from 10:00am-4:00pm. Having the no wake hours begin at 4:00pm balances the time nicely between wake hour activities and the quieter no wake activities.

Good job Tom! I am 100% in keeping 10-4. All day I wait until 4.01 comes so I can go fishing in peace. I will be at the meeting. Thank you!

I am completely in favor of continuing the “no-wake “ hours exactly as they are. I value the quiet late afternoon (after 4pm) for canoeing and kayaking. We have been coming to Gilas Lake since I was a child and never felt that 10-4 was too short a time for waterskiing and tubing. Please don’t change it!

My son helped me to sign this petition because I do not have an email address. I am opposed to extending the wake hours. I will be in attendance at the August meeting.

We should be striving to balance the wishes of all that utilize the lake for different reasons. Extending the allowable wake times comes at the expense of those that desire quiet time.

Owned our property on Gilas since 1979. Full time resident for 17 years. Loved the lake with it’s near pristine existence. Carl Merow ( Mike Merowe's dad ) initiated the existing ordnance in 1988, Legal Notice posted in Peshtigo Times Wed. March 30th 1988, Myself & a couple other people helped obtain the signatures required. The intent was to help try to preserve the pristine, quite ecology of the lake. Most of the people were fisherman, including other non lake property owners, all enjoyed the outdoors, peace & quite. As lake developed people came with bigger & bigger boats & motors, water skiing, tubing pontoons, canoes, paddle boats, Jet Skis kayaks, etc. All shared, respected the “No Wake”, property owners & non owners alike. The time slot worked for most everyone all these years. Until lately for whatever reason, some one wants to change the”No Wake” time slot. I know first hand that a lot of local people resent most non local people owning most of the land surrounding the lake & have the feeling we are trying to control “our Lake” .. Well it’s not our lake, it is everyone's lake & the intent is to try & somewhat preserve it. Burt Hicks said it in a nice simple way

We are in favor of wake hours remaining the same. As others have said it was one of the main reason we purchased property on Gilas lake. It is very easy to change rules when the people changing them aren't affected daily!

I prefer the 4pm to 10 am wake restriction, so that I can kayak without worrying about being swamped by wake.

Do not change the no wake ordinance to a later time. The current hours from 10 to 4 works fine.

property owner on Gilas since 1990 and I believe that 6 hours of wake time is plenty.
