We, the undersigned, demand that the Red Cross work to see Gilad Shalit immediately and refuse any and all continuation of aid programs to Gaza until the Hamas government, duly elected by the people in Gaza as their chosen representatives, agrees to allow Red Cross representatives to see Gilad, talk to him, and take messages to him from his parents.
We, the undersigned, demand that the United Nations cease all UNRWA activities until Hamas agrees to release Gilad Shalit. We demand that UN representatives address the issue of Gilad Shalit in ALL meetings with Hamas and other Palestinian leaders.
We, the undersigned, ask that the Israeli government immediately address the issue of Gilad Shalit and consider ceasing ongoing aid to the Palestinians until Gilad is freed. This includes the transfer of any non-essential materials, etc.
We, the undersigned, recognize that by international law, Israel must allow Red Cross representatives to see Palestinian security prisoners held in Israeli jails. We demand, however, that just as Gilad's family is denied access to Gilad, Palestinian families should immediately be denied access to their loves ones and with each request they submit for such a visit, they should be told - when Gilad's family can see him, you can see your loved ones.
For three years, Gilad Shalit has been held prisoner by Hamas in Gaza, denied even the most basic of rights.
For three years, Hamas has refused to allow the Red Cross or any other foreign aid organization access to confirm Gilad's condition.
For three years, Hamas has refused to allow Gilad to speak or see his parents.
For three years, Israel has waited for their son to come home. Now is the time. On Thursday, June 25th, Gilad passed the three year mark. Three years in captivity; three years without once seeing his family; three years of uncertainty about Gilad's condition and how he is being treated.
Hamas is demanding that Israel release over 1,000 prisoners, including murderers convicted of terrorist attacks - all for one young man, who was only 19-years-old the last time he saw his parents.
We, the undersigned, demand the world act on behalf of Gilad Shalit. On August 28, Gilad will be 23 years old. Our goal is to reach 23,000 signatures by that day. If we do, we hope to present this petition to world leaders, the Red Cross, and international media. Please help us reach this goal - for Gilad.
The momentum behind this petition is increasing as we approach one hundred signatures. Please take a moment to forward this link to your contacts to help us reach this milestone.
