Gil Hodges' admission into the Hall of Fame should have happened years ago. He was a great Dodger and was a manager he epitomized encouraging players to maximize each one's potential talent.

Gil Hodges has more votes than any other player not admitted to the Hall of Fame. He was expected to be admitted when he retired. One little known record he holds is most sacrifice flies in a single season - 19- which is a record that has held for sixty years. Sounds minor, but it's just another way he contributed to the success of the Dodgers.

I was born in Brooklyn and lived on the same street as he did once. He needs to be in with the numbers he put up and the teams he was on. Not to forget what he did in 1969! Sad that he passed at such a young age. I was standing across the street when they had his funeral, cause that was the same church I went to growing up.

Gil Hodges numbers in a stadium of Ebbetts Field over 100 RBI, couple of years of over 40 Home Runs, nevers struck out more than 100 times in any year just for sta
