As a youngster Gil was a hero to me and my friends. We watched him at Ebbets Field and I wish that my grandchildren had such a role model. It is a disgrace that such a well rounded person is not in the hall of fame.

I was 6 years old when the Mets won the World Series on the arms of Seaver and Koosman, et al. I remember my mother's unbridled joy and my father's dismay (he is a Yankee's fan). You manage a Miracle, you should be in the HOF. This was before I realized what kind of player he was. He is long overdue.

Long overdue! Gil Hodges needs to be in the Hall! Why he isn't already in the Hall is a complete mystery. There is absolutely no reason why he should not be in the Hall! It's time!

Gil Hodges was a fantastic player and coach, and a person of the highest caliber. Gill Hodges was everything for which the Hall of Fame should stand; his induction is long overdue.

I saw Gil play in LA in late 1950 early 60 and is performance on the field was as good as some of last guys who have been put in the hall of fame

Gil Hodges's statistics are comparable or exceed many existing Hall of Famers. I still don't understand why the Dodgers hadn't retired his number 14 years ago.
