Gil was great player and manager and should be in the Hall of Fame.

There is no question that Gil deserves to be in the Hall on merits. I am afraid that the reason that Gil has not been elected is pure and simple politics and favoritism on the part of some members of the Veterans Committee. Ted williams was a prime obstacle in getting Gil admitted. I am afraid that there has also been an unspoken feeling against having any more members of the Dodgers teams of the 50's elected. I hope that this is the year that this can finally be put aside and Gil can finally get the honor he deserves.

I always was amazed that Gil Hodges was not inducted. Time to remedy that shortsightedness.

Long past time to rectify this omission! I only saw him play at the end of his career, but he was still a great fielder and a feared bat! He had chronic knee problems at a time when sports medicine didn't exist, or he'd have had a longer career. Simply looking at stats does many of the old-era players a great injustice; different eras, different rules, and most players had to work at regular jobs in the off-season to supplement their player salaries!

Gil Hodges was a super hero for all my little league teamates. We knew then and now he is one of the greatest players in the major league.

Please consider Gil Hodges for the Baseball Hall of Fame. He is more than deserving of this honor, given his record and his innovative style. After reading the criteria, I would say that he more than meets the qualifications. Thank you!!

My Dad used to know him in high school. Always said he was a class act. Sorry it couldn't have happened while his Mother was still alive. Great family.

Gil Hodges is a legend in Southern Indiana. I was an Air Force "brat" growing up all over the U.S.A., but I knew of Gil Hodges from my parents who took great pride in being from his home county. He has long been noted as an excellent athlete and should be acknowldege by the Hall of Fame. Thank you for honoring this beloved Hoosier.
