Gil and my Father were good personal friends and Gil send my Dad and I tickets for a three game series at the Cubs. Not only did we sit on top of the Dodger dugout, but Gil made sure that all my Dodger baseball cards were autographed by every player that I had a card for. He was not only a terrific slugger and an outstanding first baseman, but was also a nice and thoughtful man. the kind of man that others should strive be like.

my mother lived next door to Gil Hodges in petersburg, indiana. My grandmother and his mother were good friends. I have always been a fan!
