Saw Gil play a few times in person in my youth & many times on TV. He was a class individual, a fine ballplayer who was a vital cog in "The Boys Of Summer" and a great manager. He belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

I grew up a Cubs fan in the 1950s, and Hodges was a one-man wrecking machine against the Cubs. But he did that to everyone. Played on great teams. He is long overdue for induction into the Hall of Fame.

Bill Mazeroski is in and Gil Hodges is not, which gives the rock and roll hall of fame more legitimacy. Especially after one reads the alleged criteria for the baseball museum.

He deserves it for his playing skills and for his support of Jackie Robinson. BROOKLYN NEEDS A MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM NOW! SEND THE CYCLONES UPSTAIRS TO SEE HOW THEY DO. Baseball should be managed along the lines of British Soccer. If a team hasn't won a game in so many seasons, the whole team becomes minor league and a Minor League team goes up to the majors in its place. That would stop the prima donnas
