The dominant First Baseman of his era, part of championship teams, and a great representative of the game. His election to the HOF is long overdue.

The centerpiece of the great Dodger teams, Gil took the upstart Mets to a World Series Championship just seven years after enfranchising. He was a remarkable firstbaseman with power and a manager who helped launch the careers of Seaver, Koosman, McGraw and others. He is a HOFer!

I remember sitting with Loretta Scharfman, daughter of the man who was the team photographer, and this man, Gil, was exceptional.

Gil was the architect of the Miracle Mets and a cornerstone of the Brooklyn Dodgers championship teams. If not for his untimely death at age 47, I believe Gil would have accumulated an enviable track record worth of the Hall as a manager alone. He was an 8X all star, won 3x gold gloves, and was on 3 World Series championship teams.

Hey we are tired of seeing players we have never heard of getting in. Gil was a great player for the Dodgers and a great manager for the Mets. He was the Driving force of the 1969 miracle team. lets honor this man already!

Although I was always a Yankee fan, I and many others held a respect and liking for Gil Hodges. He reflected the values and humility my parents instilled in me, and he was an admirable player and miracle manager. Do it already.

As a player and a manager, Hodges is deserving of consideration. I was his batboy in 1963, and he was a class act as a person as well.

Since it is a game of runs and he was superb at both preventing and prioducing them on the best team in his league over a prolonged period, he is indeed worthy of enshrinement.
