The Gibbs Community Needs a Middle School

I was the last 8th grade class at the old Gibbs Middle. I have a 7 year old and a 1 year old. They deserve to have their middle school in the same community!! WE WANT OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL BACK IN OUR COMMUNITY!!!! Our kids deserve nothing less than that.

I have lived in this community for 10 years and ever since I moved here, they have been saying they were going to build a middle school, it is time now 2014 for a middle school for Gibbs, The kids should not have to be bused to Holston Middle School; This community needs a middle school just like Farragut, who already had a middle school,

We have waited long enough.

Gibbs really needs a middle school! Next year my child will be attending Holston Middle and I am not very happy about her being on the bus for an hour on so on the bus in the morning and afternoon!

We need a middle school in our area to cut down travel for safety and community involvement.

This is a MUST HAVE!

I would like to see a Gibbs middle school. We just moved into the area from Living next to Holsten. I would love for my son to stay close to home and not travel far to go to school for safety reason at that. Travel that far will make them late getting home and making studying hard because of the amount of time they will have.

A middle school in Gibbs is vitally important to the children of the Gibbs community. Giving up 2 or 3 hours of a child's life each school day is unconscionable to even the average person. The children deserve better. They are riding a bus about 40 days out of the school year. This is not acceptable for any child.

The Gibbs Community definitely needs a middle school.

My children are no longer in school but had to make that long trip to Holston each day before it was remodeled and saw bugs and mice crawling around all the time. Our children deserve to be in a school in their community! We have had to drive so far for many years and it is our turn for a school!

Gibbs has needed a middle school ever since the old was turned into the high school. Safety issues on long bus rides just to start.

I can't believe that the children on this end of the county are being looked over while west Knox Co. children have had several schools built. Why would you put a child on a bus for 45 minutes one way to school? Those parents in west Knox would not have stood for this- there is obviously a money play in this project. Gibbs needs a school before Northshore!

I went to Gibbs from 1st through my Senior year . Please bring the middle school back where it belongs . ...back to the Gibbs community !

We need a new Middle School. This is long overdue, and is very important for our students, and their future. I think this will help our community to grow rapidly. This is something that is greatly needed too.

My Grandchildren did not get to attend Gibbs Middle. Is there hope for my Great Grand Children to know what a Gibbs Community Middle School is.

My kids are now 30 and 32 and attended Holston Middle School. It is a shame that there is still no Gibbs Middle School. They are the 3rd generation to attend school at Gibbs. Please build a middle school so the 4th generation can go to school in their own community.

Knox County student and proud supporter of a Gibbs Middle School. All parts of Knox County should recieve equal treatment. Carter Elementary was finally built; the least the system could do is also build a new middle school for the Gibbs community.
