The Gibbs Community Needs a Middle School

Holston middle really is too far of a commute for Gibbs/corryton kids to travel too, & most of them end up on the same end of the town they have started with Gibbs elementary.

Let's get a middle school please

why is it that every other school has a Middle school but Gibbs don't, what is the Tax payers get for the Gibbs Cmmunity ( Not a thing really) I think we need to have a middle school instead of the kids riding miles away to another school far off, plus the Gas prices are going up too, I will say again and again We need a Middle school at Gibbs!!!

I have two school age children' one in 6th grade and one in kindergarten. I strongly feel our community needs a middle school.

We need our middle school back I know there are others that want more middle schools in there area but at least they have middle schools try driving 25 min every day 5 days a week just to get to the school.

Please support a community school for Gibbs. The busing of children is not fair to the children or the parents who are so far away. It was a short term solution that has has a negative impact on students. Right the Wrong!

No denying the NEED for a Middle School in the Gibbs community. School board needs to act with kids best interest and some of those kids in Knox Co (Gibbs Kids) have been ingnored long enough. Make it Right. Approve and Fast Track this community request to build a middle school in Gibbs today!

So many reasons for a Gibbs Middle School... to relieve overcrowding at over capacity neighboring middle schools - by replacing a middle school taken away in the 80s, busing our students long distances is ridiculous, ALL students deserve to have community based education, it is difficult to coordinate school based activities (sports/band/academic clubs) when the school is NOT in your actual community... not many reasons against it ... except an unwillingness to facilitate projects in north Knoxville corridor.

People don't move to the affected area because they don't want their children going to a school that attends school with children that must steal to have pens, paper and notebooks. Nobody by choice would put their children in that environment. By building Gibbs a middle school it would positively affect the Gibbs area especially if there wasn't busing from other areas to the Gibbs area. It would further save in transportation cost and reduce traffic issues from Harbissons cross roads area, Tazewell pike Murphy rd. area. Which only gets bad on the mornings when school is in session. It delays everyone. It typically backs up on those mornings from the red light @ Washington pike on Murphy all the way to Tazewell pike. This location is over 5 miles away from the school, however there's no traffic problem when schools out.

I was on a bus for an hour and a half to get to school and another hour and a half to get home in the afternoon. Every other school in Knox County has a middle school. With some schools getting kids from multiple middle schools.

It's time that our Gibbs kids no longer have to be bused to Holston Middle School. We need a Gibbs Elementary School. My grandson is a special needs student at GES, and does not need to be bused all the way to Holston Middle School

It's time to pay attention to the population growth in the northern part of the county!

We need more pride for our community, we have a great need for a new school and are tired of bussing to Holston Middle School in someones elses community!

Waited 19 years for this to happen! Now my kids are out of high school, but still hoping to make improved difference for my community.
