If you believe it, stand behind it.

I think if you have something to say whether rude or note it should always be backed by your name and your name only!

If you believe your opinion matters why be afraid to show your true identity? You are sort of like a thug with a bandana over your face - easy to hurt people when they don't know who you are.

Hoping this will help stop the hateful language, trolling, and personal attacks so often seen in the comment section.

If you have to hide behind an alias, then you should not be able to post a comment. Stand behind your convictions

Maybe if these people had to use their real name, they would think twice about posting some of the outright nasty comments I read.

If newspapers wish to maintain journalistic integrity and provide a platform for discussion rather than just being another random message board that discourages real discussion and is home to cyber bullies and spammers, this is an important action.

I think having to sign one's name would lead to civilized debate rather than shaming and bullying.

Hoping this will help eliminate some of the bully behavior and poor role modeling for our kids that happens when cowards can say anything they want and hide behind their anonymity.

if it's important, put your name on it. That's what the columnists do.

As a columnist for the Tribune I am for transparency from the people who express their thoughts and opinions on my work.

This would be a good thing for our community dialogue.

Please ensure that commentors do not remain anonymous so a level playing field is established. People who say nasty things will cease their rudeness and replace it with civility.
