Yes I have thought this for a long time. The Tribune requires it in the printed paper so why not online also. Use real names!

I've long thought the allowance of being anonymous gives commenters the freedom to be unnecessarily rude. We are each free to have an opinion but should be committed enough to stand behind our name.

Absolutely! If you don't want your name to be next to your comment, you probably shouldn't write it. Time to make everyone accountable for their words and actions.

I agree. The anonymous seems to bring out the most hateful part of a person. There should be accountability for not only what we say but how we treat others.

Signing your real name allows a more intelligent dialogue on the subject. Using an alias does not make a comment credible. I think an open discussion on a topic is much more enlightening and informative than people using aliases and using snarky language.

Great idea. If you don't want your name next to your comment, you shouldn't have written it in the first place.

If people have something meaningful to say and want to have their voice and opinions heard, then they should have no issues with identifying the, selva. I for one take comments more seriously if they are not of the anonymous complaining nature.

I agree people should use their birth names and maybe with employers being able to also see it will seriously change the conversation
