I just started a bag of Wonderful shelled pistachios, and out of ~30 pistachios I have found 4 worms so far. I am quite disgusted and would have not bought this product had I known this is an issue

Just happened to me as well... for a second time. I would think a simple warning label would cost less than disgruntled customers abandoning their products.

So, if you think this is bad... I forgot I left a sealed bag of dry pistachios on a shelf in my bedroom, not thinking that was going to be a problem (sometimes I snack in the middle of the night). This was months ago... fast forward to yesterday (Monday), coming home from work, and as I enter my bedroom, what do I see but little worms *crawling all over the ceiling*! I'd been seeing moths in my house all summer, but I'd just been assuming they were getting in through the unsealed apartment door. My first thought is clothes moths, but as I look around, I see the plastic bag of pistachios, riddled with holes where the worms have eaten through. They've got into my dirty laundry, across the ceiling, on the walls, leaving little silken cocoons everywhere... and this is my bedroom! I've been sleeping with them for months!! They say the generation time is two weeks, so apparently it's taken them this long to get so bad, but...!!! I'm taking a vacation day today so I can deep-clean my house... be warned!!! Keep all your pistachios in tightly-sealed rigid-plastic containers, and don't just leave them lying around the house.

WHY???? I DID NOT WANT TO EAT A CRISPY ROASTED LARVAE!!!! VERY NASTY. I am so glad there is a petition for this. Absolutely appalled that the overly crunchy nut I was eating was a freaking WORM! I spit it out and there was a half eaten plump worm body! NASTY! People should be aware of the risk before purchase!!!!!! I don't care if it's harmless. IT IS A WORM!!!!!!!
