Get well week for Cumberland county schools

y’all need to close the school. i have been sick twice and still had to go to school in fear i would have to take my finals

My kids are all getting sick and I'm sick this is getting ridiculous. If they dont close for longer it's not going to get better. And the truancy is going to hurt the kids

Kids do need some more time. My son still has a cough. I work at the school and my throat has been killing me not got to anything bad yet.

That’s it, if my children are required to continue to go to school after both having the flu 2x’s and the schools having increased FLU cases, and still yet to shut down, then they WILL BE WEARING MASKS when out of my house. I believe with ALL SURROUNDING SCHOOLS CLOSED that it is unreasonable and unrealistic to continue school. It needs to be completely cleaned and disinfected. I am IMMUNOCOMPROMISED, I also take medications that decrease my immunity. It is detrimental to others, parents, staff, children to continue to ALLOW this. Shame on you CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN SCHOOLS. Do you realize that there is an incubation period that people will be asymptomatic(without symptoms)???? And everyone that has sickness within their home, EVERYONE, needs to stay home. All you are doing by going out is spreading your bacteria to others. And continuing the cycle. I am logical and I do know that it will always be present somewhere. But we need to be protecting our children, ourselves, families, and friends.

My daughter was out all last week due to sickness. She's so upset that she had to miss school. She's been working so hard to keep her grades at a/b honor roll and not have to take finals. It's really heartbreaking that it's not her fault because she's sick...

My kids are just NOW (Sunday evening) starting to get sick. CLOSE THE SCHOOLS! Two days is not enough time to contain this! Janet, you do know this is not a normal yearly problem in other areas of the country, right? Policies need to change. It says a lot when a school district would rather throw words like “court” and “truancy” at parents instead of being supportive and encouraging sick and contagious children to get well. My kids are afraid to miss any school because of the amount of make up work and the “friendly” reminders by the staff. You’re putting parents and other guardians in a difficult position to choose our children’s health or their education. I certainly do NOT appreciate that. They are children not adults. This is school we’re talking about not a job that they’ll be terminated and replaced at. CLOSE THE SCHOOLS.

Either shut them down or excuse there absences

There is a stomach going through my family right now I had it Friday and Saturday my son had it Thursday and Friday, my mother got it from my son so she had it last night my husband and daughter are next in line. I’m now to where I can eat solids. Please give the kids time to get better!!!

My daughter has the sniffles but refuses to miss school due to makeup work and it being counted against her. This is insane!! 300+ parents asking Janet to close schools... has anyone sent this to her?

Agreed I’m still sick

My daughter is sick..no fever. But has the sniffles and cough. She doesn't feel well but she insists on going to school so she doesn't get behind. She's an A student at CCHS and she knows how hard it is to catch up after missing. :( Prayers for all students and faculty to feel better soon!

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday was not enough days for the sick ones to get better. Flu takes atleast 7 days to cure..
