Ecosia is already the default search engine at several universities, including the University of Sussex.
If Ecosia were the default search engine here at the university, student searches could fund the planting of thousands of trees each month.
On average, it takes 45 Ecosia searches to plant a tree. With a student population of around 29,000 and over 8,000 staff, and an estimated daily figure of only one search per person, the University of Glasgow could be contributing to over 300,000 new trees being planted every year!
This is such a simply beautiful way to help save the planet. Please, please make this the university’s default browser to align with Scotland’s values on the climate crisis.
