We propose that the CCCU switches it’s default search engine from Google and Bing to Ecosia, the search engine that plants trees.
By signing this petition we formally declare our support for the campaign. We are asking the Student Union, the Vice Chancellor, Head of IT and Sustainability office team to help us support this environmental initiative by planting thousands of trees each year.
Benefits to the university:
1. The university will receive monthly reports on the number of trees planted by students searches for sustainability reporting purposes.
2. Ecosia is already the default search engine at 5 universities (Sussex, Sunderland, Swansea,Birmingham City University and OSU), being the next to switch will be great publicity for CCCU.
3. By taking this easy step, the university will help the planting of thousands of trees in parts of the world they are needed most.
