This trail extension would significantly increase tourism in the Scandia area, create safer places for families (both rural and urban alike) to ride together at their own pace, and is a great connector to Wm O'Brien SP from the cities.
I've utilized this trail several times riding from St Paul to the Square Lake area, camp, hike, and bike all around the state, and would love to show my out of state family this amazing resource!

I live in Scandia and use the gateway trail several times a week. Unfortunately I have to drive there because Norell Ave is not a safe road to bike on. (my route to Pine Point park). I would love to have a safe biking path for myself and all our residents. Many serious bikers use these roads, it it is really scary driving when you have a pack of bikers and you can’t get around them because you can’t see on coming traffic. The roads are hilly and winding. Especially on Norell.

I support the 4.6 million bonding request from the city of Scandia. I’m an avid cyclist in North Washington County and Scandia is one of the most popular destinations. The Gateway Trail is the “most used and premier trail” in MN. This extension to Scandia is an opportunity to add to its users choices and promote many interests Scandia provides.

Fully support this. Many county roads have very small shoulders so extending the gateway would provide a much safer riding experience.

Please consider connecting Pine Point to Wm O’Brien as well. The Gateway is a well used trail across the spectrum of age and gender. Help us stay healthy and happy!
