While I understand they are there to detect vapes, phones make them go off as well, and I'm sure other metals would too. I'm scared of going into the bathrooms as I wear metal jewelry, and I don't want to get searched for no reason.

i understand the problem and i can definitely see how the vape detectors could help. but currently they are just causing issues, people are getting pulled out of class and searched just because of their phone. Students feel that its unsafe to go into the bathrooms just because they dont want to go through the struggle of possibly getting searched, its just a waste of time, not to mention a health hazard. Yes it may be working for the time being, but i know how teenagers think and they will only get sneakier. I understand that you guys want this to end, but I just don’t feel that this is the way.

these should be either updated or get taking out of the bathrooms. i have been informed that they can hear everything that’s going on in the bathroom as well as detects other stuff then vapes. they are pointless especially when they go off with every little moment someone makes in the bathroom. no one can go to the bathroom in piece anymore with these “vape detectors” in the bathrooms.
